Hi Neil,

I have seen these fitted to a couple of boats, one thing I will say=20
though is that they aren't exactly low profile! People will=20
definitely see them, the cross piece bit where the Sony label was=20
about 0.5 inch or more from the flat surface. (this was about=20
18months ago, design might have changed but doesn't look like it)

On the soound front I'm no audiophile but for general=20
background "Noise" and announcements they would be fine, on a
par=20
with those in a low end micro system at a guesstimate.
