Forgot to mention that it also has an analog in so you can transfer you
current VHS tapes to digital format. Useful if you want to edit old tapes
and you do not have a capture card.
Also don't be tempted by the 450i (takes a memory card for stills) they are
only 640 x 480 and no real substitute for a proper digital stills camera.

Have just bought a Cannon MV400i from Staples ?578 includes firewire card
and software (crap) DV in and out.
Not the most expensive camera out there, but fantastic value for money. I
bought it for general shots of the family and friends which it copes with
well.

My only critisism to date is that my son has a bright red fleece and you
can
get a bit of ghosting around the edges under certain conditions. Apart from
that I am really pleased.
