but, then when one bulb dies, I don't know which one is dead, because both don't work. Shoudn't be a problem to work out, but still, could be a hassle if it happens too often.

I'll rather choose lights with single bulb. I have to replace them anyway.

Not directly dangerous but.....

 

40 W may be insufficient load for the triac to latch on properly or may not be enough to enable the switch to operate properly.

 

No danger to hardware but possible safety hazard if there is no light. No worse than any normal single bulb blowing though.

Hi,

I plan to replace my ligh switches in corridor with LW11Gs. My ceiling lights are 2x40W, which is 80W. Specs of LW11G are 60-500W.

However, If one bulb dies, wattage will drop to 40W, which is outside of the specification.

What will happen then? Is it dangerous? Should I replace my ceiling lights then?
