Sorry Paul,

The comments were out of order. Just feeling stressed due to the pressure of work and momentarily popped.

I've got 3 weeks to finish a project at work and I recon I have about 5 weeks worth of code writing to do. Being the Design Authority and Lead Developer means I am constantly interupted by the other 6 people working on the project. They have their code pretty well advanced thanks to all the work I did designing and building the database over the last couple of months whereas I wrote my first 2 pages yesterday :-(

If I get it right, everything will go really smoothly and no-one will remember that I had anything to do with it.... if I get it wrong I will be famous......as the person who managed to lock everyone out of every BT building !!

Not having proper access to email at work anymore means that I have a glut of mail to go through in one or two sessions per day so I have to deal with at least 50 messages in a few minutes rather than a steady trickle during the day.

I suppose I ought to reduce the lists that I am on but at the moment I think they are all relevant.

Barcode    -    Got a couple of scanners on the way
Distributed Home Audio - low volume but useful
Fujitsu     -    eagerly awaiting the Fuji arrival
HomeVision     -    got one controlling parts of the house
KAT5    -    I think I really need to be on that one :-)
PIC List    -    the KAT5 switcher will be controlled by PIC's
Siteplayer    -    web interface for the KAT5 switcher (hopefully)
UKHA Discussion     -    I'll get me coat

comp.home.automation    -    could loose that one but just skip most threads anyway
uk.tech.home-automation    -    seeing what the newbies are upto :-)

As you can see, the lists I am on are also frequented by many of the people here. I read your message on HomeVision first and replied there. I would imagine that only current and prospective owners of HV are on that list as well as this so many here will have missed my reply. Had I posted the same reply here as well it would have increased the number of messages that many people have to go through.

In one way the number of lists is a curse as it means there is always a possibility or duplicate or cross posts. Crossposting is the worst because there is an explosion in the number of replies and flames. At the same time, having multiple lists does enable people to restrict the amount of mail they receive by only choosing the lists relevant to their particular interests.

If it was all in one single list there would be no duplicates but there would be a large ovrall volume of posts.

Once again, sorry for firing off, you were just unlucky, the message was the latest in a line of postings from various people which had been posted to many lists.

Keith

I meant no ill. Just trying to ensure I make the right decisions as
I spend a CONSIDERABLE amount of money on this project and that
meant trying to reach as many group members as possible to ask for
help!

Paul.
