Cable should be straight through, not crossed.

Have fun calibrating the darn thing !!!

Thanks Mark

Final blonde question for the day:

Does it matter which way round they are connected, and how do I tell?

Daniel,

Yes, and the middle two.

I actually used the cable that came with the weather station to connect to the rain gauge and made up another cable to connect the weather station to the PC. There seem to be two different sizes of RJ11's that you can buy, one which takes 4 wires and the other sort that takes 6 - I didn't realize this at the time and bought the 6 wire ones. They don't fit as well, although do work with out any problems - well have done since xmas anyway.

Mark

Hi all

Well I now have my Dallas Rain Gauge, and all seems ok construction wise.

I have a couple of wiring questions about this though.....

In the
dallas weather station there are two RJ11 sockets, can I plug the
rain gauge into one of these?

And the rain gauge has 2 cables coming from it, but the RJ11 cable I have
has 4 connectors, which two do I use?

Many thanks

Daniel

BTW the weather station plugin for Homeseer that Patrick has written is
fantastic!!!
