No, but if you *can* afford the solution and it fits the bill then why
not just buy it?
People say I'm off my rocker with some of the gear I spend money on, yet
it's a mere fraction of what I could, or indeed would, if I had the
resources to be able too.
The Panny LCD TV's look good, sound pretty good (I was impressed,
bearing in mind the limitations) and has a nice little niche to slot
into. With that last statement the operative word being "niche"
this is
a low volume, high value cutting edge product, therefore there is a
premium, end of story and if you don't like the price then don't buy it!
I would also say that I have seen the Panny LCD properly demo'd from a
proper DVD set up correctly and, for what it is, it is very impressive
and certainly a far superior display to most LCD screens I've seen,
including the Samsung LCD TV.
That being said, I'll wait till the prices drop a bit ;-)
