Title: Message
Not being able to wait for the bulk order, I received my Welch Allyn barcode reader on Friday, but it does not work in the way I expected !!

I was expecting just to plug the RS232 port into the serial port of my PC and optionally the other end into a keyboard.  I would then have expected the the power led to come on, and through using Hyperterminal be able to scan so bar codes and see some results. Unfortunately it looks as though mine is a dud, in that I don't see any signs of life as I would have expected - no lights, no nothing.

What am I doing wrong, or is it bust ??
Thanks,

Mark
