For short leads it probably doesn't matter which wire goes where so long as
both ends are the same.
For longer leads I would look at an existing cable or the markings on the
back of your face plates or patch panel so you keep the signals on the
correct twisted pairs.
Don't forget you need stranded cable for patch leads.
