The thing is that Gareths purchase isn't for personal consumption ... it's for selling on. Now just because Gareth is not a "business" then he can get away with not charging you VAT (and not paying it) but Laser can't.

Both Laser and LetsAutomate are run more for the interest that Li and Mike have in the whole X10 scene rather than for "profit" ... both have "real" jobs that I assume pay enough that they don't need to rake in profit from the X10 side of things. If they did then things would be an awful lot more expensive than they are at the moment. The UK X10 scene is not large enough to support a profitable business model at this time, I just hope that Li and Mike stick with it long enough for the X10 side to grow so that they *CAN* reap back some of the effort that they put in - after all, how many other dealers/suppliers give you the kind of service that they do?

Yes, but we bought them for £120 total, and at laser it's £176.25, so it's not just £30 difference.

Li has also had to pay someone to clean them all and he is throwing
in a 3 month warranty, I think it is an excellent deal, but it is
obviously not going to make him rich! I just hope he has enough
alternative income to allow him to continue to subsidise our little
community ;-)
