Hi All,

<snippety>

Is it my imagination or are most Usenet groups like that.... or is it that I

have been spoilt by the warm and friendly community that we have here. I

like UKHA_D and long may it remain as it is...THE place for UK Home

Automation discussion (and a few OT threads)

It’s the way of the usenet in general I'm afraid Keith. I asked a question last week on uk.media.tv.sky (full of really sad geeks who were obviously bullied at school) for advice on painting a Sky+ box black, and as per usual on that newsgroup 10% of the replies were funny, but the remaining 90% were either vain attempts at humour or people considering me sad for wanting to do it in the first place. Its because they're all so sad, all you have to do is top post (put the reply above the original text), use poor spelling or grammar) or advertise something for sale, and it will generate far more replies than the REAL subject matter.

OK the signal to noise ratio on this list isn't particularly good, but at least the off topic stuff is generally interesting and not bickering!

Tim
