RE: BT Bother !

Campbell

I'm having the same problem with my Anytime dialup.

Several times its kicked me out after 2 or 3 emails have been downloaded,
but the biggest problem is connecting in the first place.

It takes well over a minute now for the connection to network to be verified, and
it only connects once in every 5 or 6 trys.

I have learnt just to grin and bear it or go back at another time to try again.

Luckily for me I'm getting the adsl self-install in 3 weeks or so, so hopefully
I'll leave all this behind.

Currently BT are pi##ing me off. every night from about 10pm onwards  I am lucky if I stay on line for 2 minutes at a time. For some reason their servers do stop responding...It has got to the point, each time when I connect I can send 1 or 2 emails at most immediately after verifying name and password. After that...my machine keeps trying to get the BT server, but it does not responds...eventually logged off, then redial.

Before 10pm odds.....service is usually fine 2hours or more each time...

Does anybody have any idea what is going on...Spoke to BTinternet Tech support at 60p/min :-(  and they were useless... "maybe its the exchange...nothing we can do...no way of knowing how often you have logged on etc....Told, sorry requested he look at logs and email me back confirming this conversation, but he has no email system....Pass it on to supervisor then...." I will sir"...(yes result)......"but he will not be able to do anything" (aw f###).

Please do try to get somebody to look into it.....(I was frustrated and £8 odds worse off).

IF I didn't need to keep my email address I would tell them to shove it where the sun don't shine....

I've stuck with them through the hard times (coz it was a yearly plan may have had little to do with it).

Now to try 151

Any ideas gratefully received, I remember talk about DACS boxes or somehting like in the past, could these do this, if neighbours are online etc.

ADSL is in Paisley and Renfrew...I',m in Houston (the middle) 5 miles either way...sods law

Forgot to note...email is affected, so it is definetely the server to pc link and not the internet as the guy kept suggesting
