But I was referring to the fact that Yahoo subscribe you to mailing lists
I had turned this off but I think now they have reset it
Its quite well hidden but there was a thread here on where to find it
For the life of me I can find neither

Well, all a spammer has to do is subscribe to a mailing list, then they can
see a list of subscribers. What I do (apart from the ukha list) is append a
little suffix to my email addres,

stuart.ms@xxxxxxx stuart.pgsql@ etc

This way I can see which mailing lists (or newsgroups usually) are being
trolled for addresses to spam.
