It's up to the individual's interests (and budget) as to how far they take their system.

 

Either I didn’t make myself clear, or you are being overly sensitive ;-)  In a house the size of yours distributed audio, and computer networking is a great idea. For me it isn’t. Just like you no longer use occupancy detection in rooms, but do in corridors.

 

HA is fantastic in the right circumstances, but it is too easy to over-automate, so it actually gets in the way rather than making life easier.
