this is similar to what I have in place now... the stereo output from the HA
PC goes to an old HiFi Amp I had spare. This amp lives in Node 0 next to the
HA PC and is on 24x7. The amp drives 2 x pairs of speakers which are
distributed around the house thus:

Pair A Left channel = Master bedroom
Pair A Right channel = Near the front door
Pair B Left channel = Kitchen
Pair B Right channel = Living room.

Homeseer generates the TTS output, and the only "zoning" control I have at
the moment is that I have homeseer set either the left or right channel to 0
volume, so I have 2 "zones" - Bedroom & Kitchen and Lounge & hall. There is
absolultely no noticeable hiss from any of these speakers (SWMBO would
complain pretty soon if there were!) - The one in the bedroom is placed
behind my built-in headboard about 2 feet away from my ears, so I'd notice
it as well if there was any unwanted noise..

SWMBO has already complained that this zoning is not fine enough - a number
of times she has moaned that my morning wake-up event is played in the
kitchen as well (she often gets up before me, and is in the kitchen when my
alarm goes off), so I have to sort out some proper zoning control pretty
soon...

My initial thought is just to put some relays in the speaker leads to
(dis)connect individual speakers to/from the amp. - a bit concerned about
running the amp with no speakers connected to it though... (I envisage
having all speakers disconnected unless/until TTS output is needed to that
zone). Id also like to add a couple more output zones as well....
