RE: Fw: (ukha_d) TiVo - issues !
Good luck getting it replaced - whatever you do, take it back to
Powerhouse, as
I've been waiting for over a month now for TiVo to swap out my broken
box.
I was a big big fan of TiVo, and the impact it has when it breaks is
considerable, but I am now of the view that their backup service is either
plain
crap, or over-stressed due to the number of defective units.

Actually I've had one spontaneaus reboot when gf saw it suddenly go into
the
Tivo video in the middle of recording. Could have been power glitch but
pc
next to it was still running fine.
And yesterday I was watching futurama while it was recording something
else
when it locked solid.
Couldn't see the remote or anything. Had to power on and off to get it
back.
Futurama was ok on second playing though.
Glad I haven't opened the box yet, as it seems it might be going back TO
BE
REPLACED! I wouldn't be parted from it for good over my dead body at
the
moment. The pausing/rewinding is actually very usefull, I didn't
realise
what was missing from Showshifter till I'd used a Tivo for a day or
two.
(But I don't want to start another Tivo/Showshifter thread! Please!!)
Overall, its been a great buy.
Has anyone else had any glitches like mine?
(bar gareth, but his box does seem to be flat out bad)
