A few questions...

The IR lead that came with my TiVo has 2 ends, one of which points to
the Cable box so what is the second one for?

Do I have to leave the Cable box ON permanently for the TiVo to record?
I think I do.

When transferring a program to a VCR the onscreen says something about
countdown, I cannot see this does it come with an upgrade? also do I
have to manually start the VCR recording?
