Hi all
Just a quick update on the 8 Zone ir Transmitter prototype. Well high speed optos arrived yesterday
(friday afternoon) got home early from work so it was off to the shed . Who said electronics was fun ( i think i did) well it is but sometimes frustrating as well ,i couldnt get it to work, downloaded the data sheets from the manufacturer ,which to me was different from what RS had in their catalogue.
Anyway today was a lot better . Searched the web and found a schematic which used the opto im using.
Tried and bingo it worked . Have installed the opto and additional components into my prototype and tested with Homevision . Have saved ir signals from my tv and dvd eg vol up and vol down . All appears ok so the Home Vision signals are now all opto isolated... Next is finish schematics and send off to Ian B for acrobat conversion and then hopefully on my site....

ps the circuit i looked at was a PC  (rs232) to RS485 opto isolated FULL DUPLEX CIRCUIT. It even had a picture of the pcb .
