Here's the thing...

At the moment, as at last night anyway, I have approx. 225Gb of MP3s,
the DDAR simply cannot cope with that, I doubt very much that the AT can
either. Now, I appreciate what you are saying regarding how many would
you actually listen to, but that's not really the point, the point is
that the reason that they are there is ease of use and accessibility,
certainly not for sonic nirvana! If I want that I'll use the Micromega
CD player and forget MP3 totally thanks.

So I might well want to listen to all sorts, some are on one drive, some
are on another and I honestly don't have the time to muck about
selecting only the few I think I might listen too in the next few days.
So raking through that amount of data is just not an option for me,
personally.

However, 30,000 tracks is not really that much, that's probably going to
equate to roughly 3,000 albums or so as on one of my discs I have 83.7Gb
with 22,710 tracks in 1804 folders (albums) so it ain't that big. So you
should reach it's limit somewhere around the 130-150Gb mark, I'm already
way over that so the AT won't handle it either!

Don't get me wrong, I still think that the AT is a blinding bit of kit
and probably it is a bit better than the DDAR/RIO but it still has
limits that affect me. TBH, the more choice the better as with all hi-fi
kit, then you buy what suits you.

I take your point though that, probably, it won't affect the majority of
users but I need to find an alternative.

K.
