New Site - Features

The new site has been up for about 10 days now.  I thought it would
be
useful to point out some features.


1. MORE
Remember to click on the "More" link at the bottom of each
story.  The main
screen shows only the intro-text (this is also the text that is parsed
to
make the AvantGo page).  The rest of the story and any relevant links
can
been seen my clicking "More"

2. COMMENTS
You can comment on any story, review or feature.  Already this has
proved
useful for providing updates on products that have changed or gone out
of
production since they were reviewed eg
http://www.automatedhome.co.uk/article.php3?story_id=842

3. SUBMISSIONS
*Anyone* can add their own story or comments! Bear in mind there will be
a
delay between posting your item and it appearing as it has to be approved
by
an editor.  Any *core member* of the UKHA_D community can apply for
their
own login which will allow them to administer/approve their own
submissions.

4. ARCHIVE
Several people have asked how they see the older reviews and news
stories,
and not just the last 8 shown on their respective pages.  At present
the
easiest way to do this is to visit the Archive section.  To see all
the
reviews for example just select Reviews from the Sections drop down.


I've tried implementing the changes people wanted like adding pics back
to
the News Items on the home page.  Around 90% of the stuff from the old
site
has been converted over to the new site now.  There are still a few
broken
links here and there (please report to broken@xxxxxxx) but
hopefully the majority of the site is OK.
