I'm working on a little app (TivOSD) which
displays
OSD text on a networked Tivo.
It works by passing a string on the command
line so
it can be used by such things as HomeSeer, Digiguide or a
script.
Here's the rub...I have used an off the shelf
component in my app which I thought was $30, well it is, but that's per
machine
not per developer (which is what I had thought). An unlimited license is
$300
:-(
If anyone wants to have a go with the app,
mail me
off list. I can distribute the demo component with it, but it will only
work for
30 days.
I've tried to find a freeware telnet component
for
VB (I don't have time to learn the telnet protocol & winsock) but
have
had no luck. If anyone has any ideas I would like to hear
them!
