You CAN, if you really feel like it, wrap the CAT5 cable in kitchen
foil,
and ground one end, which will help a bit...
... But it's fundamentally a crap way to do it. If you're going to
carry
signals over CAT5, then they need to be balanced. The whole point of
balancing
is in the rejection of interference (such as shortwave radio.)
Doesn't matter whether you're talking 10baseT ethernet, 100baseT
ethernet, or KAT5 audio... balancing is the only way to go.

cat5 cable picking up radio ?
I lay as a temporary solution a cat5 cable and i run audio down
it to the a set of mulitmedia pc speakers in the bedroom.
and for some reason it picks up radio. I can hear
a radio program in the audio.
any ideas ?
