Would I buy the kit now - no...
Would I ensure that my cabling runs were capable of taking it -
yes...
I currently stream MP3 to various locations round the house.... if all
goes
according to plan in the next two weeks, I will be adding DIVX-compressed
video
to that.... hopefully, in the next couple of years, I'll be able to stream
uncompressed, hi-definition video, with multi-channel surround data to
playback
devices in local rooms....
Will it take Gigabit ethernet to the clients to do that? Probably not,
switched 100base-T will be enough. Will it take Gigabit etherhnet to the
server
to do that? Probably. Depends how many differnet zones I have ;-)

LAN?
Like I say, I'm not starting a debate I'm just curious as to

for such a thing as I can only think of one use personally and
