Frank,

I've only really just started out, and am trying to work out what I
need to do. I would, however,
be very interested in anything you could 'throw' my way.. as you are
probably aware this is quite a learning curve. I've scoured the web
in search of all sorts of info but not come up with very much. You'd
have to bear in mind that I'm just learning at the moment.

I noticed that you said you were using 3 port pins, which sounds
better than using 8...

Essentially I'm looking at providing an  8 zone with 8 emitters in
each zone, plus an indicator (as you say) for status indication. Also
when I say emitters, actually I'm talking about 3.5mm Jacks because
what I've actually started to do is internally mount an IR emitter in
a piece of equipment (eg DDAR/RIO)  which goes to a jack socket on
the back of the equipment's case. Then it would be just a simple case
of using a mono to mono lead to connect the Homevision IR box to the
equipment... all that really does is hide the ugly stick on emitters
and cable, just looks a little nicer IMHO.

Thanks for the reply,

Andy

emailed a schematic for an  8 channel ir circuit to Ian Bird. It was
similar to a home brew unit i made except for the opto isolation
(like Ians relay board concept) . I believe it would do what you
require although would have to be tested. It uses only 3 port pins of
HomeVision. If you are interested i could probably do something on it
on the weekend. I believe you require leds which i assume are for tx
status indication?.Anyway if interested let me know.
