RE: Audiotron vs Rio Receiver - Round 2

Title: RE: [ukha_d] Audiotron vs Rio Receiver - Round 2 - Remote (web) control
Eek - no.

Common mistake at line c:

The old CD standard transmits a 16-bit signal at 44.1Kz.
Internet radio stations are in bitrates, not byte rates.

Therefore 44.1Khz digital out is equivalent to 705.6 kb/sec internet radio, so should be fast enough :-)

Analogue only
a) to be fair to the Rio which only has analoge
b) Because the amp in the test lab (my office) doesn't have optical :-)
c) Because optical only 44 and 32(?) Khz and chances are I'll be listening to some obsure radio station not xmitting at either of these rates :(

(I have the same problem with my DVD player which does SACD too - the optical output can't handle high def SACD streams).

Tony, in your RIO vs AT tests were you using the digital output, or the analogue?
