Pedro,

Should really be no reason but bear in mind that distros such as IPCop are
really intended as 'Appliances' which serve a single purpose rather than being
multi purpose server boxes.  As you introduce more software there is always a
risk you could introduce security risks particularly if you run it with only one
zone.

Also, updates for these boxes tend to toast anything that was there before.

Speaking of IPCop, is it possible to install JReceiver on the same box as IPCop?

If you run a PC-based firewall like Smoothwall / IPCop, you'll find it comes
with a transparent proxy (Squid) that works well...





Don't use Windows for this - use Linux, even if you need to install Squid by
