As Des suggests, it sounds like you are logging on to the server
locally and through TS with the same user account. That creates two
sessions for that user (unlike the situation with remote desktop on
XP where you take over the existing session) and as each session logs
on it will launch anything in the start up folder. I had exactly the
same problem and solved it as follows:
1. Server is configured (I think through the registry) to log on as
Administrator on boot up.
2. Administrator start-up folder includes things like HV software,
Winamp, DDAR server etc.
3. Admistrator has a screen saver set which requires a password.
4. I have my own user account that is set up as a member of
Administrators thus giving me full admin rights to the server (and
domain).
5. My account on the server has nothing in the start-up folder.
6. I access the server through TS from a client and log-on using my
own account, not that of the Administrator.
Everything then works fine with a couple of minor (for me) problems.
1. I can not see anything that has been started by the Administrator
when I connect through TS as myself. For example, I can not see the
caller ID software that is running, so don't see the calls appear on
the screen.
2. Someone could go to the server, turn off the power, turn it back
on and then have full admin rights. This is not a problem as it means
an IT LITERATE and UNTRUSTED and UNATTENDED person is sitting in my
office, if that is the case then them having admin access to my
server is the least of my worries!

Graham
