Behind the times as always, but I don't see a followup to this yet:

I don't think this is true. Some networks do use NAT, but there is no
problem with mobile-originated routing of most common net protocols.
GPRS is available to the general UK populace on: Orange, O2 (cellnet)
and Vodafone, albeit at a price.
When you add a bluetooth enabled handheld/laptop and mobile phone in
to the equation, it's the same kind of leap that dialup to ADSL was -
it's radical enough to transform (again) your view of the net...
