So are there any non-cardbus wireless lan cards?

The card is probably of the Cardbus type. Cardbus cards can't be used on the
PT510 as the slot is not a cardbus slot. Cardbus cards have the
characteristic "golden bumps" along one side of the socket end of the card
to prevent insertion into noncardbus slots.
