I would like to have programmable dimmers installed: Hall, kitchen dinning
room

Before I fork out for Futronix ( which are a bit expensive ) thought I'd ask
the group for any viable alternatives. Need something which I can preferably
programmatically control ( Linux or XP ), has security features and dimming
scenes. Also, which won't confuse the electrician, and that I can turn on
even when the I have lost the remote control ...

I have options to put in any type of cable ...
