Cat5 Cabling and the mains

Hi all.

Whilst I understand the rules about running cat5 cables alongside
mains cables, don't do it.

I am currently wiring up my Edwarding house with cat5 and there are a
couple places were I might have to run alongside mains cables for 3
or 5 metres. Is this really a problem ? Is there anything I can do to
protect against problems ?

Nigel
