sure you download and install the latest firmware form kodak. I did
this
and it initially did as you say but now seems to have rectified itself with
lots of charge/discharge attempts - works fine now.
I'd
go so p'd off with it that I carried about a few spare alkaline batteries
every time I took it out.

Kodak digital camera got any battery tips?
Mine seems to go flat after 6-8 pictures
regardless of the length of time I charge it for.
I have never known anything suck the power
like
it.
