Dear Marcus,
Why not install a Halon system, there's plenty of companies throwing them
out with the new "fire safety at work" regulations :D.

I'm currently in the middle of having the house completely rewired and flood
wired with cat5 cables back to the old pantry cupboard (node0). This
cupboard is directly below the staircase landing (the intersection of the 3
staircases) and I'm a little concerned about the risk of fire in node0
causing problems with upstairs escape routes. I'm planning on cladding the
inside of node 0 with 1/2" chipboard to aid mounting of equipment etc. Any
ideas how I can also give at least some modicum of fire proofing as well ?
