Thanks guys.

So far I've kept the noise down (and just ordered a quiet PSU from
quietpc.com - thanks Doogie, I found a couple of reviews at
dooyoo.com that rated them highly).

I have been involved in the design of a TV studio before and although
not to the standards of the old BBC spec, the lengths we went too to
cut sound transmission down were pretty severe.

I'm not keen on insulating just yet as I've got so much else to do
still and the wall involved has a number of Comfort units, power
cable and CAT5 running through it. It would be quite a big job
although I did think about cutting the metal frame out in the loft
and stuffing rockwool down that way. Or pouring in polystyrene beads
(bean bag beans!) - only trouble is, they all pour out if I was to
remove any of the 8 double power sockets at the bottom! I'd end up
with a soft play room - could be fun.
