RE: (ukha_d) OT: Ide RAID and XP
I'm running RAID1 with XP on an Abit KR7A-Raid board - no probs so far,
and
worked first time (much to my suprise considering it was my first PC
build!)

My Abit board has built in Raid, and it still requires software
drivers.
Had Win2k on it, worked a treat with mirrored pair of drives, split into
C:
and D: partitions.
Downgraded to XP and the C: drive still existed, but the D: disappeared
off
the face of the earth.
This was with XP drivers too.
After much faffing about, rebuilt machine from scratch as XP & now have
a C
and D again, but am afraid to RAID it again in case it goes titsup.com
again.
Be v.careful what you choose,
Tony
