RE: IR distribution

Thanks Kenneth, that was the thing I was trying to remember...well the
Xantech block anyway, I have not heard of the Buffalo tubes though.

Do you have a preferred web site for these or are they readily available
also how much is not cheap?

I think reliability would be very important?

Thanks,

B.

Brian,

I use a Xantech 791-44 block and a mixture of Buffalo tubes and Xantech
emitters and it is *very* stable and *very* reliable, not cheap but it
does the job admirably. IMO, for a hard-wired system you'd be pushed to
beat it, until Keith gets IR return and the switcher sorted wich, I'm
sure, will be as good. Yes, I do have that much confidence in Keith and
KAT5!

The ten-way block I use is most probably total overkill for most
installs as you can get up to five emitters on one IR output, I know as
I've done it, so you could, in most case I reckon get away with the four
way block which would reduce the cost. The emitters are also not that
cheap and I have yet to try Keith's DIY ones on it properly, as usual
the bits are in a box somewhere until I find the time to sort it out! :(

HTH
