RE: ADSL router/hub?



Because each individual PC will be connected to a particular WAP11.
 
... and the ethernet traffic will be directed to the correct WAP11 based on the MAC address of the WAP.
 
For the sod-all difference in price I'd do it.
 
(Actually, I'd get an 8-port switch, and consider hard-wiring the Macintoshes in the office).

But if the network is ONLY wireless (which it is) how does the switch know what it connected to what port (or am I talking nonsense?)

Tim,

With a hub, every packet is sent to every port, with a switch, only the
packets destined for each port are seen by each port. ( Not technnically,
but basically it cuts down unnecessary traffic, which you want on a wireless
net.)


Splitter = filter, understand now :)
