  MIDI on laptops tends to be a bit expensive (like almost everything
else on laptops!).

  Having looked up the Evolution on the net (I'm not familiar with
that unit) I can see one major gotcha.  The keyboard is *powered* from
the soundcard, which is highly non-standard.   You will probably need
an external power adaptor.

   As for gettinng MIDI on a laptop, as long as the laptop has the
standard card slots then there are a number of adaptors available from
music specialists.  I *believe* there is also a USB to MIDI adaptor.
