General Packet Radio Service IIRC

 

It allows a higher baud rate of comms from a mobile basically and is an “always on” connection. Visit some of the mobile sites, Orange, Vodafone etc and you can get more info there.

You thought about phoning O2 yet? ;)

I simply called Orange, got the tariffs, got them to add it to my
contract as is...job done.

AS for the handset, well that's whole another story but there was a
lengthy thread on the subject about two weeks ago IIRC.
