The pins were taken to support RGB
instead. To get component out, it goes via the digital connector (with a
DAC), not the analog port, which is why the NTSC machines get more
connectivity.

Hmmm, well they make no mention of that on the nintendo.co.nz site, and
do link to http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/gcn_svhshookup.html thru the
FAQ link on the page.
Im getting mine next week. If I have to use composite on my TV I will be
pissed to say the least!
Everythign else is s-video (Its a menu option on the NZ sky boxes to do
either comosite and RGB or svideo out the scarts) and the VCR is too..
Alas, the big TV has no component in on it, or scart.
