Does anyone have Amstrad e-mailer plus? See www.amstrad.com.
I would like to buy it for my parents abroad, and I would like to know if I can use different ISP, not the default one. Is phone number it dials hard coded?
By default, it uses amserve as ISP, but I couldn't find how much they charge for connection per minute. There's no subscription fee, but they send you comercials regularely. And they can do the software upgrade as well.
Also, I would like to know if it's possible to use my existing mailboxes, or I need to switch to theirs.
This thing has a small browser with limited graphics capabilites, but it could be used as a remote control station e.g. to access your HA server from fixed remote location (e.g. holiday house). It's phone, fax and answering machine as well, so just that could be worth £99.
Cheers,
Nik
