I’m actually doing it the most
expensive way J
I’m using a Marantz RC-5200
remote
control (£340) which is Marantz’s mono version of the Pronto Pro with
the
transmit side of a powermid (IR-RF) built in so you don’t have to
point
it at a window anywhere. The remote can be set to one of 4 channels in case
your neighbour is using one, and if you are using more than one receiver
you
can select one of up to 16 device codes to segment the
system
At the other end I’m using a
Philips
(could use Marantz, but they are on back order at the mo, and more
expensive
than the Philips) RF-IR unit (£120) which has an IR blaster, and comes with
4
dual emitters. The only reason I want to use the emitters over a distance
is I’m
worried that if I locate the receiver in node zero I’ll suffer
interference
because I’m likely to have 24 5A dimmers in there!

Tim,
Would you mind sending me a wiring diagram for
what your trying to achieve. I
would like to distribute IR around the
house>from
a device connected to my
PC. It reads as though you maybe doing
something
similar.
Ive considered buying components from America,
but
seems like you may know of
inexpensive products here in the
UK.
Cheers
Martin
