Would you mind sending me a wiring diagram for what your trying to achieve.
I 
would like to distribute IR around the house from a device connected to my
PC. It reads as though you maybe doing something similar.

Ive considered buying components from America, but seems like you may know
of 
inexpensive products here in the UK.
