RE: OT: Consultants!!
Hmm...
except it isn't another tenner, is it.
It's
about another £10k, because if you're really going to be a global
company,
the only two choices that make sense are:
-
.com
-
.com, .co.uk, .com.au, .fr, .de ......................................... ,
.za
Still,
I agree, a bit piss-poor. HOWEVER, based on my experience of such things,
it is
VERY LIKELY that an external agency came up with the name and no-one in IT,
or
for that matter, no-one lower than the managing partners/board, had any
inkling
what it was going to be.
I
had
to pay £2k to get ekingfisher.co.uk from a student who registered it within
20
minutes of the group board announcing they were setting up a Division
called
"ekingfisher". Of that £2k, £1,500 went to the lawyers.
Regards,
Mark

Well
the domain owner is not an employee. And given it would have cost £8 to
register that site is a bit poor.
They
managed to spend £75M on picking the name!!!!!!!!! so another tenner
shouldn't
have been too hard.

Sorry, that is NOT disturbing, that is hilarious, and a
stroke
of
genius...
Whoever thought of that in the PriceWaterhouse marketing
department should be rewarded for the best viral
marketing
campaign of recent times...
a
quick Whois search reveals .co.uk registered to Web Consultancy -
wonder if they're linked to PriceWaterhouse?
(spot the cynical marketeer...)
Of
course I might be wrong.
Scott Crowther Intamac Systems Ltd
This is seriously doing the
rounds in my office, quite a disturbing site.
The
problem...
.. I work for them!!
Keep hearing that song every
time I walk round the office.
