My setup is similar to yours, although the total length is approx. 30m.
20m
of "good" quality CT100 to node zero, in-line F-plug connector
then 10m of
B&Q "CT100", in-line F-plug connector (@ the wall plate) then
a short patch
lead into the digibox.
Just one further thought - check to see there aren't any kinks in any
of
your cables. When I first put my dish up I couldn't get a signal at all.
I
presumed it was due to trees so moved the dish. When I recently removed
the
cable I found a _massive_ kink in it. Whether this was the cause of no,
or
it really was the trees I don't know, but might be worth checking.

I'd say the max cable run is 40M.
I done the continuity test's using a coax testing kit. (one box
connects to one end of the cable and sends a pulse down the cable.
Then a second unit checks to see if there is a pulse). that test was
fine.
Thanks for your explanation of shorts testing... saves me looking in
the wardrobe!!
