RE: AC Current to Voltage Transducer
Err... that's one of the things I design for a living!! We manufacture
our
own two-box solution (separate transducer and Current Transformer (CT)
-
high accuracy, high cost) and factor (re-badge) a one-box solution (low
accuracy, low cost).
Though the web site is pretty poor, see http://www.crompton.invensys.com/
under Transducers (from the Product Catalogue pull-down list). These
are
higher accuracy than the CR4310 (as our specified accuracy is over the
full
operating temperature range / input range / irrespective of output
load),
and it's the two-box solution (for CT's, see Transformers from the
Product
Catalogue pull-down list).
I don't think the single-box solution is on the web site, I'm told
they're
similar to the CR4310 (but only available with 4/20mA out - should not be
a
problem as most PLC's will accept 4/20mA). More info/assistance from
the UK
sales office 0870 870 7500. Unfortunately, I'm somewhat detached from
sales
so I don't have a clue how much any of these sell for :o(
As for other one-box solutions, LEM make a range available from RS - do
a
quick search on http://rswww/com for
"LEM hall effect" - 100A product is
stock code 301-9495.
Out of interest, I've got an Integra 2000
http://www.crompton.invensys.com/catalog/digmeterqu2000p1.htm
monitoring the
power consumption of my house - quite interesting readings (in a sad sort
of
way)...

Subject: [ukha_d] AC Current to Voltage Transducer
Hi
I am after a AC Current to Voltage Transducer in the UK. I can find
them in the US but not here. This allows you to connect your house
mains to an analog input on say an ocelot and plot how much power
your house is using.
Read more from the following links:
http://www.homeautomationforum.com/projects/powermon.html
http://www.crmagnetics.com/cr4310.html
Ideally something similar to the CR4310:
The CR4310 series current-to-voltage transducer produces a 0-5 Vdc
output signal that is directly proportional to the input AC current.
The output signal is average-sensing, calibrated for RMS.
This transducer is used with process control and industrial
instrumentation equipment. The DC output signal can be connected
directly to a high impedance analog input of a computer or PLC
without additional signal conditioning.
The CR4310 series will measure up to 200% of full scale on a short
time basis (1 minute or less) and 150% on a continuous basis at its
rated accuracy.
To protect external circuits from damage caused by short circuits or
motor inrush currents, the output is limited to 12 Vdc.
