BT Broadband Map

Hi folks,

Don't know if you've seen any news about this:

http://www.netimperative.info/cmn/viewdoc.jsp?cat=all&ct=nw&docid=BEP1_News_0000038544

Quoting the article:

BT creates broadband map to assess demand

London, June 18 2002, (netimperative)

BT today said it will unveil a nationwide broadband map, in a move that
will let the public demand broadband access in areas where the telecoms
behemoth has thus far refused to upgrade its exchanges, due to negative
cost implications. Consumers seeking high-speed internet access can let
their ISPs know, which will in turn register demand on BT Wholesale's
broadband database. Demand and target levels will be displayed and if
enough interest is shown BT has pledged to make local broadband services
available. The database will be launched on 1 July.
