Can I claim the record for the *SHORTEST* KAT5 run?

 

6 inches...

 

I use the custom KAT5 set as a signal ground isolator between my video scaler and my AV kit ... to do it any other way would have cost me $300+ (plus carriage, import duty and VAT) to have bought the required video-capable ground loop isolators from the US!

P.S. You may have planted the seed for how to send IR back but you forgot to plant one to suggest actually getting it into production! *grin*

Mark (I had them demo'd in my old house using prototypes on vario board and a big length of CAT5 running up the stairs,  BUT, my proudest boast is being responcible for planting the seed on how to run IR over a CAT5 that already has all the pairs used!)
