You can get PCB mounted ones with screw holes, so not really a big problem.
It might be better/easier to go for the S-Video & phono connectors if
SCARTs
are too problematic to fit.

You could, but who'd risk it? :-)

It's bad enough running phone & data down the same sort of sockets.
I was testing a run one day but plugged into the wrong socket.  The phone
rang.
Scratch one netowrk tester :(
