There are three separate compatability issues - barring the legal issue
of CE certification which is not a technical matter ;-)
1: Mains voltage/frequency
2: Broadcast frequency
3: Display format
1: probably not an issue - lots of people are widely reporting success
of these sorts of items with step-down transformers (but you do need to
build the cost of the transformer into your budget.)
2: Probably a legal issue - the US devices may not be licenced to use
the Euro-friendly frequencies. Rather between you and your conscience -
but it does mean that once you start with US devices, you have to stick
with them, and can't add UK ones later.
3: Most modern tellies will, as you say, accept NTSC ;-)
Personally, I'd buy the UK versions from Li or Mike ;-)

We often get the pop-up ads for Xcam's for $$$ etc.
My understanding would be that the video from these devices would be in
the NTSC format.
Most of us have multiregion DVD players or VCR's that can playback NTSC
tapes on a PAL TV.
But can the TV itself display NTSC directly? I checked my TV manual and
it shows that it can accept three types on NTSC signals(expected from a
VCR).
My question is can these USA devices be used in Europe?
