When I were a lad it were all BBSs, none of this internet lark ;)
Well... That's a white lie... I did "acquire" compu$erve accounts
from
time to time when I needed something that was on the internet.....
Ftping things to compu$ servers, then down to the pc with x or z
modem... :S

My lack of internet access was due to being too young to have a credit
card/ afford 10 squid a month from my paper round money........ My first
modem was a 2400 on an 8086 640K Amstrad "luggageable" with 2
3.5"
floppies and no HD..... And the majority of software came on 5.25"
discs
at that point *rolls eyes* I ran a crappy BBS on that system, with files
available to download !!!! (middle of night beep, beep.... User
requesting I put disc 4 in so he could download something off it)

I swapped that pc for a 19.2K USR modem when I got my first 2nd hand 286
*eyes mist over*

..... And I'm now..... 24! (with ADSL!) :p
